The 2009 Ford Focus has made a considerable step in the right direction by adding stability control as an option for 2009 and also by adding a new top-line model to the already extensive lineup.

In 2008, the cFord Focus got a revamp inside that made the car more appealing and offered a better ride. Ford also dropped the wagon and hatchback models and improved on the rest.

And now, a brief of the Ford Focus 2009 review. The Ford Focus has been one of the few successful American-made cars that offer European styling, peppy driving, and extremely good fuel economy. Over the years, Ford has only improved the car, and in 2008, they added a plusher interior, slightly more horsepower, and a more finely tuned suspension. The largest leap for the Ford Focus is the inclusion of Ford's SYNC hands-free communication system.

For 2009, Ford has introduced the new trim line that includes sportier rims, chrome door-handles and mirrors, and heated leather seats. It also comes standard with the SYNC communication system. The stock engine for 2009 is a four-cylinder, 140 horsepower that touts an impressive 35 mpg. The transmission comes standard as five-speed but you can order a four-speed automatic.

The Focus is one of Ford's most inexpensive cars and sells for right around $15,000 (base price) but it still offers some nice option packages. Included in the options list are a six-CD changer, full power accessories, and remote keyless entry. On the outside, you can include sportier rims and tires, a sunroof, and chrome accoutrements.

For safety, the Ford Focus 2009 introduced stability control as an option on all packages. All models offer six airbags inside, and anti-lock brakes are an option. The one drawback for the Focus is that it lacks head restraints in the back seat.

While the 2009 Ford Focus does not offer the speed and handling of some of the pricier competitors, it is still fun to drive with quick acceleration and firm steering. The interior cabin is quiet with little road noise seeping in. The 2.0-liter power station provides adequate acceleration, and the transmission manages well even on steep inclines.

Overall, the 2009 Ford Focus is an excellent car for the price that offers driving enjoyment as well as many options and features to make it even more enjoyable. And, with gas prices hovering over $3.50 a gallon, the 35 mpg sits nicely on your wallet.
